Drum Folk – An Original Album & Story Project
Drum Folk is an original eight-track album by Phillip Campbell, blending powerful drums and percussion with strings, guitar, keyboards, Irish tin whistle, bagpipes and atmospheric soundscapes.
The music follows a dramatic narrative of conflict, endurance, escape and return, with each piece forming part of a larger story. The project is accompanied by an original book that expands on the world and characters behind the music, creating a combined musical and storytelling experience.
The first completed track, Dragon Valley, captures a pivotal moment in the story as two protagonists flee an advancing enemy and are forced to find a way through a dangerous mountain valley as darkness closes in.
Five of the eight tracks are now nearing completion, with the remaining pieces currently in development.
The complete Drum Folk album and accompanying story are planned for release in 2027.
